Upgrade Guide

Update

First let's get all the optional files for the EZ Flash just incase you don't have them

EZ Flash Firmware: https://www.ezflash.cn/zip/omegakernel20210824.zip EZ Flash Cheat Library: https://www.ezflash.cn/zip/omegacheatlibrary.zip EZ Flash Images: https://www.ezflash.cn/zip/IMGS.zip

GBATemp "Simple" Thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/new-theme-for-ez-flash-omega.520665/

Use either the built in unzipping feature in Windows, or use a program like 7zip or Winrar to extract the files.

Document image

Plug in your SD card that you use for your EZ Flash, we will first copy over the IMG folder, the CHEAT folder, and the ezflash.bin file to the root of the SD card.

Document image

Now eject the SD card and plug it into your EZ Flash Omega.

Document image

Now plug the cartridge into your console. Boot the console holding the R button, and your EZ Flash should boot into update mode automatically.

Document image

Once the update is done the cartridge should restart and you should see the normal EZ Flash menu. Your EZ Flash is now updated the most current firmware.

Theme Install

Now that your cartridge is updated, we can install the theme. Plug your SD card back into your PC and open the Simple folder that you extracted earlier.

Document image

Here you will copy the BACKUP and SYSTEM folders to the root of the SD card.

Document image

Now select the IMGS, SAVER, RTS, CHEAT, and PATCH folders (if you have them) and drag them INTO the SYSTEM folder.

Document image

Now we can delete the official ezkernel.bin file from our SD card. We can then drag over either the light version or the dark version of the Simple theme. Rename the file to "ezkernel.bin"

Finally repeat the update process one more time on your Gameboy and you should now have an updated and upgraded EZ Flash Omega!
