AGB TFT HDMI Hispeedido | Install Guide

13min

This is our install guide for the HISPEEDIDO IPS HDMI Kit - HD TV Output Mod

Video Guide

Getting Started

This kit requires the soldering of two wires for the audio to be passed through the HDMI cable. There are optional brightness control wires as well.

Take Inventory

Ensure you have all the parts included with your kit. See below:

HISPEEDIDO IPS HDMI Kit Includes:

  • IPS Backlit Screen (NDSi Upper)
  • IPS Control Board
  • 3M Adhesive
  • 2x Ribbon Cables
  • 7x Pre-tinned hook up wires
  • Micro HDMI to HDMI adapter

Before You Proceed

  1. Fully disassemble your AGB Game Boy Advance
  2. Fully dry test your IPS kit before installation

Installing your IPS kit, bending the ribbon cables, soldering, or applying any adhesives in this kit will void the warranty and return policy. Fully test your kit before proceeding.

Shell Modifications

General shell trimming tips

This kit requires extensive cutting of the shell in order to make the micro HDMI port accessible from outside of the shell. You will have to cut both halves of the shell, however the back portion will have less cuts. We reccomend using a dremel tool to remove a bulk of the material, and an exacto knife to clean it up.

The cut should begin 4mm away from the post that sticks out above the case

Everything highlighted in red will need to be cut in order for the display to fit within the shell

Rough cut based on image above, notice both sides of the shell have been cut.

Once you have soldered your connections to the board, you can preform one more dry test to ensure that audio is passing through the HDMI port, as well as testing that the buttons function to adjust brightness.
